Touting Our Success

St. Louis Cares Southeast Alumni will launch a marketing awareness campaign during the first quarter of 2013 among St. Louis-based Southeast alumni. The purpose of the campaign is to formally introduce the organization, to explain its mission and to welcome all manner of support by fellow alumni. Despite the organization's substantial accomplishments over the past year, it is has operated below the radar and "out of view".

Gearing Up for Annie

St. Louis Cares Southeast Alumni gears up for an October return to St. Louis by Annie Wersching, TV and film star, to spearhead the creation of an endowed Southeast scholarship in the name of her parents, Frank and Sandy Wersching, both 1965 Southeast graduates.

New Southeast Alumni Director

Jay Wolz, Southeast Missouri State University's new Alumni Director was introduced to the St. Louis Cares Southeast Alumni board during its monthly meeting by Bill Holland, VP of Southeast Missouri State University Development. Jay is a Southeast graduate.

Landmark Board Meeting

There was a host of "good news" that swept the April board meeting of St. Louis Cares Southeast Alumni. MOHELA, the Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority donated a total of $20,000 to establish an endowed scholarship for St. Louis foster care youth wishing to attend Southeast Missouri State University.

First 2012 Scholarship Award Recipient Named

St. Louis Cares: Southeast Alumni has officially selected its first 2012 Scholarship Award recipient. He is Jovon of Ballwin, Misssouri. Jovan will be enrolling at SEMO for the upcominig Fall 2013 semester and members of St. Louis Cares Southeast Alumni were on hand to provide Jovon with an on-campus tour in April.

Mary Strauss Reception for Maureen Dunkel, First Class

The success of the St. Louis Cares: Southeast Alumni's first fund raising event has set the bar very high for future fund raising events. The host, Mary Strauss, was exceptional. The setting was sheer elegance at Mary's home on Westmoreland in the Central West End. The ambiance was perfect as a welcoming backdrop for Maureen Dunkel, curator and owner of the Diana, The People's Princess Exhibit.
